Book Review: His Only Salvation - Skye Turner
Three people from the same place that chose different paths.
Hope is a humanitarian. Hope runs a shelter for battered woman and children. She has a desire to help the less fortunate and will bend the rules to make this happen. Hope loves Luke and knows that she could have a good life with him and he will protect her. The bad boy that needs protecting and love, Gabrial, holds the other half of Hope’s heart. She does not feel that she can let one go as she loves them both equally and needs them both to complete her.
Luke is the detective. He wants justice for the crimes he is investigating even though that means he would have to bring down the crime lord Gabrial. Friends since childhood, Luke loves Gabrial like a brother. He is also the man that holds the other half to Hope’s heart. Luke loves Hope fiercely and wants to be with her but holds back because he can not share that part of her with anyone; not even his childhood best friend.
Gabrial is the crime lord. Gabrial breaks the rules. He believes that hard work can bring money even if it comes at the expense of others. Contrary to his occupation, Gabrial takes justice in his own hands but never harms women or children. Gabrial loves Hope and will protect her at all cost.
When Hope is threatened will they be able to put differences aside and find the threat?
This is the first book I have read by Skye Turner and it was a really good book. I wouldn’t call it a dark read by any means but more of a twisted love story. It is one woman that loves two men and can’t choose between them. Experience the intense passion and burning desire along with the anguish. This is one book that you don’t want to put down when you start reading. My only disappointment was the book ended. :) I wanted it to keep going some more.
I liked the unexpected twist in the story. I never saw it coming!
I recommend this book to anyone that likes a complex love story with a twist.
