Book Review: A Ready Made Family (Mail Order Brides Book 6) - Annie Boone
Synopsis:
Ava received devastating news. She would never have a child of her own. She was trying to figure out what came next for her and her husband. She knew that there were plenty of children who needed good homes and loving parents. She and Phillip could provide that. Only Phillip wasn't willing to adopt. He insisted that children of his own was all that he would accept. He didn't want a broken, barren wife. So he divorced her. Just like that. When she fell in love with a set of twins who needed a family, Ava agreed to be their foster mother. This was her only option if she wanted to have a role in the lives of these precious children. She longed for a permanent solution, but there was no hope that she would be allowed to adopt them as long as she was a single woman. The drastic move she makes next will surprise the children and turn her into a law breaker. When she finally does meet her true love, will he be able to forgive her transgressions? A Ready Made Family is the sixth in a series of Mail Order Brides short stories from Annie Boone. Annie writes clean, Christian romance.
My Thoughts:
A Ready Made Family is a clean sweet romance. It tells the story of a woman that was told she could not have children. Upon finding out this, she tells her husband who leaves her as he does not want to adopt children, as she suggested, but wants a child of his own. Ava wanted a family and wanted to adopt a child however the agency would not allow a single mom to adopt however she was able to foster. After getting the children home and realizing that she could not give the children back, Ava took off with them to find a husband out West.
The book is a quick read with likable characters that go through many struggles and heartaches but end up finding their happiness in ways they least expect it. This book was very heartwarming. You can feel with the main character as she goes through heartache from her husband to loving two small children to happiness of finding a new man to cherish. I like the writing style of the author with the unique plots and very few if any mistakes (spelling errors, etc) in the book.
If you are looking for a short sweet romance, then this is a book/series that you would probably enjoy.
