Book Review: A Lily Blooms (Cutter's Creek, Book 4) - Kari Trumbo

Synopsis:

Lillian never dreamed that James Cahill could be hers. Not after her outburst in the middle of his wedding. Her futile attempt to stop it made her a laughing stock, and hampered her chances of getting any suitors at all. What ones she did get she compared to James, rejecting them all. But when Lillian finds he's no longer married, she does her best to suppress her long-buried desires and avoid the handsome divorcee. James, on the other hand, seeing she's no longer the impetuous young girl he once knew, begins to have other ideas. Enjoy this story of self-discovery and love at the Little Red Chapel in Cutter's Creek, Montana, where Lillian discovers the heart sometimes speaks without thought, but the whispers of the Spirit can guide them.

My Thoughts:

Lillian embarrasses herself by her outburst in the middle of a wedding that most of the town was attending. Seeing that this was an embarrassment to her family and caused the family to become a laughing stock and talked about in the gossip mill, Lillian’s mother forbade her to speaking to James Cahill every again. Being the talk of the town lessened Lillian’s chances at finding a suitor. Lillian tries to avoid James but it seemed every time she turned around, he was there.

James was sure that Lillian knew something, why else would she have created a scene at the wedding. He is now going through a nasty divorce and lost everything to the woman he married. What did Lillian know back then? Wanting answers, James will not leave Lillian alone until he finds the answers he is seeking.

It was a great read from beginning to end. The plot was unique and the writing was solid. This book teaches of not judging people and how even “Christians” tend to be very judgmental. There are twists and turns that you don’t see coming that add to the story and create a unique story. This book shows you that even through heartaches and stumbles in life that there is a “pot of gold” at the rainbow for everyone.

I enjoyed reading this book by the author with the clean and true to life story that she created. The book can be read as a standalone without feeling that you are missing something from not reading the other books in the series.
