Book Review: Sorcha (Clover Springs Mail Order Brides #3) - Rachel Wesson
Synopsis:
Eighteen-year-old Sorcha Matthews happy future is shattered when her soul mate, Luke, is tragically killed before she even gets to unite with him in Clover Springs. She flees Boston rather than face a life filled with horrific abuse. Widower Brian Peterson needs a wife to look after his two daughters. He isn't interested in romance but no self-respecting woman will live on his homestead without a ring on her finger.
Sorcha needs a husband; Brian needs a wife. Is this a match made in heaven? Or is Sorcha jumping from the frying pan into the fire?
My Thoughts:
Sorcha leaves the orphanage that she knew as home since a small child. She is so full of dreams and hope for the future. Sorcha goes west to Clover Springs to get married however she didn’t know that marriage to a man with two children was going to test her faith and patience. Sorcha takes everything thrown at her and becomes determined to be a good wife and mother.
Brian had his own ghosts to face with the death of his wife and son. While blaming himself for their deaths and fighting his growing feelings for Sorcha, Brian has to learn how to let go of the past and face the future.
After reading the first two books, I immediately had to purchase the next one in the series. Sorcha does not disappoint. This book is full of emotions from tears to laughter to smiles. This book will have you believing that there is a happily ever after for everyone. It is so easy to connect with the characters in the book. The more you read in the series the stronger that connection is. You feel that you are living in Clover Springs and reading of your friends and neighbors.
The writing is smooth and the story does not feel rushed like some mail order bride stories do. The book captivated me from the beginning and kept my attention all the way to the end. It was a sweet romantic read with a lot of emotions mixed in. I can’t wait to read more by this author as she definitely takes the mail order bride books to the right level.
