Could she convince her family her true vocation lay as a wife and mother? Samuel Higgins has been fighting prejudice his whole life. Maybe his brother is right, his future does lie in the California goldmines. Father Molloy is back in Clover Springs with two young’uns. They need a home. Who will provide it? Danger strikes. Can Samuel save the woman he loves and will they end up together or is one of them destined to leave Clover Springs forever?

My Rating: ★★★★★

My Thoughts:

Rachel Wesson brings another book to the table that does not disappoint! As all of the books in the Clover Springs series, this book is just as good as the rest.

I really enjoyed this book and how it was different from the typical mail order bride books. The two main characters, Ellen and Samuel, grew up together and already knew each other. I thought the way the characters came together after fighting their attraction was done nicely. It shows that no matter the circumstances and what your plans are, God always has a plan that you can’t fight against. The way that the orphanage was brought into the story added to the story and really shows that there are people with a heart out in the world even though you always have the grumpy negative people as well.

I was saddened by the tragedy and thought there was no way that anyone can get past it. I was wrong! The town came together and didn’t let it get them down. They were determined and showed that through perseverance that you can overcome a tragedy and see the light at the end of the tunnel. I loved how the ending played out. I think it was perfect for the situation.

If you like a sweet romance that will send you through several emotions, then you need to grab not only this book but the series. You will not be disappointed. Enjoyable and great read!
